Verse 14 has three phrases and 24 dialog words. The first two verses have these 11 dialog words ... Kai hopou ean eiselthē, eipate tōi oikodespotē hoti ho didaskalos legei ("And where ever if he enters, tell the House-Ruler that the Teacher says, ..."). The 11 words are bottom up. The diagram shows Jesus, the Teacher, continues to give orders to the two disciples he sent down into the city from verse 13. The Teacher says if or wherever the man carrying the vessel of water enters the house. That wording is totally ambiguous. If or wherever means the man could or could not enter, one or the other, or even both! What kind of a house is this and what kind of a man is this? All three titles point to Jesus. If Jesus the Teacher entered the house through the door in the previous diagram he may also have entered the tent on top of the house to become the House-Ruler. If Jesus is the Son of God he is also the Son of Man. The next diagram will show the next order the Teacher gives and what the two disciples say to the House Ruler. 14:13c < Verses > 14:14b |
