Mk 12:38a ... And in his teaching he was saying, ... "Beware from the scribes, ..."

Verse 38 has 4 phrases and 20 words. The 1st and 2nd phrases have these 6 narrator and 4 dialog words, ... Kai en tiē didaxiē autou elegen, Blepete apo tōn grammateōn (And in the teaching of him he was saying, ... "Beware from the scribes, ...").

The 6 narrator words are bottom up the sides from the 2 central triangles tangent to the standing scribes to the hands of Jesus. The 4 dialog words are top-down the center from the feet of Jesus to the central triangle tangent to the standing scribes. The preposition "apo" (from) is mistranslated in virtually all bibles as "of." The narrator is being truthful but he is counting on the reader to think he chose the wrong preposition. The 12 disciples are at the bottom of the diagram. Jesus will warn the reader about the disciples pride, arrogance, sensuality, avarice, greed, and blasphemy who are the center of attention in the synagogue. What follows in this verse are the first two of their six sins.
