Mk 10:44a ... "And who ever wishes among you to be first, ..."

Verse 44 has two phrases and 11 dialog words. The first 8 words, ... Kai hos an thelē en humin einai prōtos ("And who ever wishes among you to be first, ...").

The 8 dialog words are top down. The first four words "Kai hos an thelē" (And who ever wishes) are tangent to the two white triangles supported by the 3 wish circles coming from John and James. The last 4 words "en humin einai prōtos" (among you to be first) are tangent to the two white triangles supported by John, James, and the other ten disciples. The plural pronoun "humin" (you) refers to John, James and the other ten disciples. This part of the verse is virtually identical to what was said in verse 43b. The word "prōtos" (first) acts as a synonym of "megas" (great) from verse 43b.
