Mk 9:18b ... "and he foams and gnashes the teeth, ..."

The third phrase has these 6 dialog words ... kai afrizei kai trizei tous odontas ("and he foams and gnashes the teeth, ...").

The 6 dialog words are top down tangent to the father, the Unclean Spirit, and the little boy who is still "split in two" as shown in the previous diagram. We are still in the not too distant past. The dialog circles act as foam coming off the Unclean Spirit down to the little boy's mouth. To construct "the teeth" (tous odontas) just change the color of the little boy's lips from pink to white. The gospel text is still all tangent to "the signs."
