The second phrase has 5 narrator words and the third phrase has these 7 narrator words, ... kai ei mē hena arton, ouk eixon meth eautōn en tō ploiō (and if not one bread, none did they have with themselves in to the boat). The 12 narrator words are bottom up. The word "arton" is tangent to "one loaf of bread." The words "tō ploiō" (the boat) is also tangent to it's sign. The Greek text here seems to be a conditional statement regarding the number of loaves of bread (arton) the disciples have in the boat. This diagram shows the disciples left 3 loaves of bread back on the land. They have one loaf of bread in the bottom of the boat. Jesus, their spiritual bread, is tangent to the top of the boat. 8:14a < Verses > 8:15a |
