Mk 6:21d ... and to-the 'thousand-leaders,' ...

The 4th phrase has these 3 narrator words, ... kai tois xiliarxois (and to-the thousand-leaders, ...).

The 3 narrator words are top down. The two words "tois xiliarxois" (to the thousand leaders) are tangent to the two men with red hair, the sign of a military general in charge of 1000 soldiers. The number "1000" is signified by the two squares, each with a perimeter of 1000 units, tangent to the ground and the heads of his two "chiliarchois" (thousand leaders). Do the geometry, the two red squares each have a perimeter of 999+ units, one for each thousand-leader.
