Verse 19 has 3 phrases and 12 narrator words. The 1st phrase has these 5 words ... Hē de Hrōdias eneixen autō [The yet Herodias in-held (something) against-him, ...]. The 5 narrator words are top down. The English translation says says she "bore a grudge" against John. The Greek text uses the verb eneiche which comes from en (in) and echó (to have, hold). A better translation might be she "held something in" against him, such as an evil Unclean Spirit that will drive her to kill John by manipulating others to do the deed. The diagram has the Unclean Spirit showing itself coming out of her mouth against John down in the "watch." |
