Mk 2:16a ... And the scribes of the pharisees, ...

Verse 16 has four phrases and 24 words. The first phrase has these 5 narrator words ... Kai hoi grammateis tōn farisaiōn, (And the scribes of the pharisees, ...).

The 5 words are top down. This diagram shows the text implies the scribes are under the conrol of the pharisees. But other ancient manuscripts read "And the scribes and the pharisees" which implies the scribes are independent of the pharisees.
