Verse 7 has 9 phrases and 34 words. The 1st and 2nd phrases have these 9 narrator words ... Legei oun ho mathētēs, ekeinos hon ēgapa ho Iēsous (Says therefore the disciple, that-one whom was-loving the Jesus, ...).

The 9 narrator words of the 1st and 2nd phrase are bottom up. The focus now shifts from "fish" to the mysterious but unnamed "beloved disciple." The 2 words ho Iēsous (the Jesus) are nominative (the subject of a sentence, Jesus is doing the action, loving the disciple). In Greek, the nominative can be placed anywhere.
