Verse 9 has 5 phrases and 23 words. The 1st and 2nd phrases contain these 2 narrator and 6 dialog words, ... Apekrithē Iēsous, ... "Ouxi dōdeka hōrai eisin tēs hēmeras" (Answered Jesus, ... "Not twelve hours are there of the day")? The answer is yes. But can you construct a diagram given these 8 words to show this statement is true? The 8 words are bottom up from the hands and top down from the body. The two narrator words Apekrithē Iēsous (Answered Jesus) are tangent to the hands of Jesus and the two white triangles tangent to the following 6 dialog words. The 6 dialog words "Ouxi dōdeka hōrai eisin tēs hēmeras" (Not twelve hours are-there of-the day) are tangent from the body of Jesus to the last word, the white circle, the sign of a hēmeras (a day) which in turn is tangent to the 12 yellow circles (12 hours). Since 12 hours is equal to a day, the 8 word statement and the diagram are both true. Jn 11:08b < Verse > Jn 11:09b |
