Pilate - Pilatos

Definition: Pilatos (pil-at'-os) Noun, Masculine - Pontius Pilate, the prefect (military governor) of the Roman emperor in Judaea. A carved limestone building plaque discovered at the archaeological site of Caesarea Maritima in 1961 confirms his title.

Diagram: The sign of Pilate is the same sign as God the Father but instead is colored red to reflect his command of the army to rule by force.

Mk 15:01d And they deliver him to Pilate.
Mk 15:02a And Pilate asked him ... Are you the "King of the Jews"?
Mk 15:04a But Pilate again asked him, saying ... Do you not answer "anything"?
Mk 15:05 But Jesus no longer answered anything ... so that Pilate "marvelled."
Mk 15:09 Pilate answered ... Are you willing that I release to you the "King of the Jews"?
