Verse 14 has 3 phrases containing 12 narrator words. The first two phrases contain these 8 narrator words ... tetartē de fulakē tēs nuktos ēlthen pros autous (Now in-the-fourth watch of-the night, he-came before them, ...). The 8 narrator words are bottom up alternating left and right. The 4 words "tetartē de fulakē tēs" (now~in the fourth watch of the) are tangent to Jesus, a small circle of wind, and the fourth watch of the (night). As soon as Jesus moves off the mountain we know that 'the time' (now) is the start of the fourth watch. The "swells" are now signs of the "four watches of the night." The circle of the Sea is now in the foreground so that the "white trefoil vesicas of Jesus" can "walk around" on it. The pronoun "autous" (them) refers to the disciples but it can also refer to the four dark "watches of the night" where Jesus comes before them to keep blowing wind into the boat. The "watches" serve as copies of the top of the mountain. Matt 14:24c < Verses > Matt 14:25b |
