Mk 14:38b ... "The indeed Spirit (is) willing, the but Flesh (is) weak."

The 2nd and 3rd phrases have these 8 dialog words, ... To men pneuma prothumon, hē de sarks asthenēs (The indeed Spirit willing, the but flesh weak).

The top 4 dialog words are top down from the arms of Jesus to the triangle (his Spirit) holding Simon's head. The bottom 4 dialog words are bottom up from the hands of Jesus to the triangle holding Simon's body (his Flesh). The diagram shows Jesus reaching down to enclose Simon with the Holy Spirit. This hypothetical diagram shows the Holy Spirit will breathe into Simon the willingness, strength, and courage to get up and follow Jesus. Simon also reaches down with his arms just like Jesus above, but with Simon it is a sign of his weak flesh. What Jesus says here is prophetic. Soon, inside the courtyard of the high priest, Simon will fear for his life, (his flesh), when a servant girl identifies him as a disciple of Jesus. The diagram here sets the stage for Simon's continuing weakness, his inability to stay awake in verses 40 and 41.
