The 4th and 5th phrases have these 9 dialog words in Greek word order ... kai apantēsei humin anthrōpos keramion hudatos bastazōn, akolouthēsate autōi ("and will meet you a man an earthenware-vessel of water lifting, follow to him!"). The 9 dialog words in English word order are bottom up from the disciples to the slave lifting the vessel of water to Jesus telling the disciples to follow the slave. The first 3 words "kai apantēsei humin" (and you will meet) are co-tangent to the triangle, the two disciples, and the slave. The next 4 dialog words "anthrōpos keramion hudatos bastazōn" (a man lifting an earthenware-vessel of water) are tangent to the water lifting slave. The identity of this "man" was purposely ambiguous. Mark wasn't about to tell his disciples that this man would soon be taking them to the one who may have arranged the meeting. The noun "keramion" (earthenware vessel) comes from "keramos" (clay). The noun "hudatos" (of water) is tangent to the head of the water bearer and the water in the vessel. The verb "bastazōn" (lifting) is the top dialog word the man is lifting in the triangle on his head and in his hands. The last 2 words "akolouthēsate autōi" (follow to him!) are tangent to Jesus in Bethany from the house of Simon the Leper giving instructions to Simon and John. 14:13a < Verses > 14:14a |
