The 3rd and 4th phrases have these 5 narrator and 8 dialog words, ... legousin autoi hoi mathetai autou, Pou theleis apelthontes etoimasomen hina fageis to pasxa [say to him the disciples of him, ... "Where do you wish (that) having gone we may prepare that you may eat the passover")? The 13 words are bottom up. According to Mark 14:3-9, Jesus and the disciples are still in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper. In verses 10-11 Judas has agreed to betray Jesus at a good time. But as God, Jesus knows all about it. The word "apelthontes" (having gone) indicates that these (two) disciples were sent off by Jesus on a secret mission into Jerusalem to find a venue to eat the passover meal with all 12 disciples without Judas knowing where or when. Luke 22:8 gives their names, John of Zebedee and Simon the Stone. Diagram 12b shows these two disciples came before Jesus to ask him what they could do to prepare the passover dinner of unraised (bread). 14:12a < Verses > 14:13a |
