Verse 17 has 4 phrases and 19 words. The 1st and 2nd phrases have these 5 narrator and 4 dialog words, ... Ho de Iēsous eipen autois, Ta Kaisaros apodote Kaisari (the~and Jesus said to them, ... "The things of Caesar give to Caesar."). The 9 words are top down. Instead of answering their hypothetical Yes-No question, Jesus performs some political jujitsu. Jesus implies that the owner of a denarii belongs to the one on the coin, not the one who carries it.
