Mk 10:34c ... "and they will 'scourge' him, ..."

The third phrase has these 3 dialog words ... "kai mastigōsousin auton, ..." ("and they will 'scourge' him, ...").

The 3 dialog words are top down. Jesus prophesizes that he will be cruelly tortured before being put to death. The soldiers would then mock Jesus some more, remove the purple cloak, then strip him naked, telling him they would replace his purple cloak with a scarlet cloak. Two soldiers then whipped Jesus from both sides with a scourge, called a cat of nine tails, to make their victim scream like a tortured cat. The body of Jesus would then be covered with blood, his new scarlet cloak. (Mk 15:15).
