Mk 9:33a ... And they came into Capernaum.

Verse 33 has four phrases containing 16 words. The first statement contains these 4 narrator words, ... Kai ēlthon eis Kafarnaoum (And they came into Capernaum).

The 4 narrator words are bottom up. The John, James, and Stone temporarily depart from their fear in the previous verse. Based on the information supplied in this story, they have joined the other nine disciples on the road (the way) back to Capernaum. They have just entered the two signs for the city, Jesus leading the way. The second phrase contains 7 words of gospel text followed by a 5 word question from Jesus.
