Verse 35 has four phrases and 19 words. The first two phrases have these 8 narrator words, ... kai kathisas, efōnesen tous dōdeka kai legei autois (And having sat down, he called the twelve and he says to them, ...). The 8 narrator words are top down. Jesus needs to drop down from the top of the graph so that he can sit down (kathizo) while standing inside an equilateral triangle. The 2 words of phrase one "kai kathisas" (And having sat down) are tangent to Jesus and the triangle in which he sits. Jesus will then give a 5 word "if statement" followed by a 6 word "then statement" to his disciples while sitting. The geometry needs to be prepared in diagram 35a so that he can deliver his "then statement" in diagram 35c. 9:34 < Verses > 9:35b |
