Mk 5:4a ... Because he was often bound (with) the 'fetters and chains,' ...

Verse 4 has four phrases and 23 narrator words. The first phrase has these 8 narrator words ... dia to auton pollakis pedais kai alusesin dedesthai (Because the he often fetters and chains was bound, ...).

The 8 narrator words are top down. The 2 words "auton pollakis" (he often) is tangent to the demoniac. The last 4 words "pedais kai alusesin dedesthai" (fetters and chains was bound) are tangent to the "fetters" and "chains" just like the verse says.

This verse is a flashback to previous "times." In this diagram the demoniac is bound by a "fetter (foot shackle) and a chain." The last diagram will return him to the present, strong and free.
