Mk 5:3b ... and not (even with) a chain any longer, ...

The second phrase has these 4 narrator words ... kai oude halusei ouketi [and not (even with) a chain any longer, ... ].

The 4 narrator words are bottom up. The 4 words "kai oude halusei ouketi" [And not (even with) a chain any longer] are tangent to the 4 links of chain attached to the 4 link fetters (the foot shackle) binding the feet of the demoniac. The diagram shows that with 5 links of chain the fetter would still be tangent to the 4 words but still not long enough for the fetter to bind him.
