The 2nd phrase has these 5 narrator words ... kai strafeis eipen pros autous (and having-turned he-said before them, ...). The 5 narrator words are top down instead of bottom up. The first two words "kai strafeis eipen" (and having-turned) does not refer to Jesus turning, it refers to the heads of the four men "having-turned" 180 degrees looking up at Jesus rather than down from where they came. The direction of the 5 narrator words have also "turned" from bottom-up to top-down. You can now see how careful you have to be in translating the original Greek text back to English. You must always have the same number of English words as Greek words in your translation. The Greek gospel text can also be rather ambiguous at times.
