of-John, are-you-fond of-me?"

Verse 17 has 11 phrases containing 19 narrator and 19 dialog words. The 1st through 3rd phrases have these 4 narrator and 4 dialog words where Jesus says, ... legei autō to triton, Simōn Iōannou, fileis me (He-says to-him the third, ... "Simon of-John, are-you-fond of-me")?
The 4 narrator words are top down, the 4 dialog words are bottom up. After Jesus was arrested, Simon denied Jesus three times. Simon was not showing love or even fondness to Jesus when he denied knowing him. Jesus was now reminding Simon of his betrayal by asking him three times, twice using the word "love" the third time using the word "fond."
