| 16 | 17a 17b | 18 | 19a 19b 19c 19d | 20 | 21 | Jn 6:17b ... and darkness already had come, and not yet had come before them the Jesus.
Phrases three and four contain these 11 narrator words, ... kai skotia ēdē egegonei, kai oupō elēluthei pros autous ho Iēsous (and darkness already had come, and not yet had come before them the Jesus). The 11 words are bottom up. The 4 words kai skotia ēdē egegonei (and darkness already had come) are tangent to the darkness at the bottom of the mountain which had already come with the 4 words Ōs de opsia egeneto (As yet evening it became) tangent to the top of the mountain in diagram 16. The next two words kai oupō (and not yet) are straddling the half circle of time on the center of the boat on which Jesus will later stand in verse 21. The last 7 words kai oupō elēluthei pros autous ho Iēsous (and not yet had come before them the Jesus) are tangent to the 12 disciples and Jesus obscured by the word Iēsous (Jesus), the darkness, and distance, as he stands on the top of the mountain. Jesus is now in position to communicate from a distance with the disciples inside their boat in the middle of the sea. Jn 6:17a < Verses > Jn 6:18 |
