Verse 43 has three phrases and 24 words. The 1st phrase has these 7 narrator words, ... Kai proskalesamenos tous mathētas autou, eipen autois (And having called the disciples of him he said to them, ...). The 7 narrator words are top down. Jesus has summoned the twelve to the temple. Jesus typically uses the saying "amen I say to you" to gather the twelve disciples when he wants to show them something important. The following diagrams will use simple geometry to show why "these ones" (the scribes) will receive a "greater all-around judgement" for what they did to the poor widow in verse 12:40 and what they so "richly" deserve. 12:42b < Verses > 12:43b |
