Verse 28 has five phrases and 20 words. The 1st and 2nd phrases have these 8 narrator words, ... Kai proselthōn eis tōn grammateōn akousas autōn suzētountōn [And having come before (him), one of the scribes having heard them (the Sadducees) debating, ... ].

The 8 narrator words are top down. The first 2 words are tangent to the triangle holding Jesus. Words 3-8 are tangent to the scribe. Words 6-8 are tangent to the scribes ears and mouth. The diagram shows the scribe has heard the Sadduccee's argument.
