Verse 17 has six phrases and 20 words. The first two phrases having these 7 narrator words, ... Kai ekporeuomenou autou eis odon, prosdramon heis (And as he went forth into a way, having run one, ...). The 7 narrator words are top down. The word eis can mean "into" or "one" depending if the word has the rough breathing mark or not. From the previous diagram, Jesus drops down into "(the) way." A youth, a young man, like one of the many children in the previous story, runs up to him to join him on "the road."
