Mk 10:22b ... (He left grieving) for he was one having many possessions.

The third phrase has these 5 narrator words, ... hēn gar echōn ktēmata polla (he was for one having possessions many).

The 5 narrator words are bottom up tangent to the rich youth and his possessions. The diagram shows the rich youth extending his hands tangent to his possessions. Obviously the rich youth felt gloomy at the thought of selling his possessions and giving the proceeds away to the poor. The word order in this phrase (he was for, possessions many) causes ambiguity. The pronoun "hēn" (he was) is ambiguous. Let's assume "he" refers to Jesus. The diagram shows the extended hands of Jesus holding his possession of "eternal Life." When everyone dies that qualifies them as poor. Jesus then gives away "Eternal Life" to everyone who entered death believing in the name of Jesus (8880). This is why the rich youth departed from Jesus gloomy. Jesus asked him to live in poverty and to follow him to receive eternal life. Perhaps this rich youth was gloomy because he felt discriminated against because of his wealth. Even the tax collector Levi, the son of Alpheaus, whom Jesus said "follow me," wasn't required to give away all he owned to the poor (Mk 2:14). Levi aka Matthew probably did so voluntarily.
