Mk 9:43a ... "And if ever the hand of you (causes) you to stumble, strike it off, ..."

Verse 43 has five phrases containing 31 dialog words. The first two phrases have these 9 words ... Kai ean skandalizē se hē cheir sou, apokopson autēn ["And if ever to stumble (causes) you the hand of you, cut off it, ...").

The 9 dialog words are top down. The word "cheir" (hand) is tangent to the tip of it. The words "apokopson auten" (cut it off) is tangent to the entire hand. Verses 9:43, 45, and 47 all involve cutting of various body parts so you can enter "eternal life" in heaven and avoid eternal damnation in hell. The point of this story is that no loss of anything on this earth is worth risking an eternity in hell.
