Mk 9:30c ... and he did not want that anyone should know.

The third phrase has these 6 narrator words ... kai ouk ēlthelen hina tis gnoi (and not did he want that anyone should know).

The 6 narrator words are top down. The literal meaning of the text is that Jesus did not want anyone to know the prophesy he was going to teach his three disciples. The ironic double entendre meaning of the words when come together tangent to their signs sometimes have the opposite meaning. The diagram shows that the word "anyone" includes the three disciples and it puts them in a place where it is impossible for them to know. The next verse begins their teaching. Will the three disciples begin to "know" (gno), understand, learn, and remember the prophesy will teach them in verse 31? The verse that follows the teaching confirms the answer to that question!

9:30b < Verses > 9:31a
