The 3rd phrase has these 5 dialog words, ... To thugatrion mou eschatōs exei, ["The little-daughter of-me at-the-end she-has (arrived), ..."]. The 5 dialog words are bottom up. Jairos has to jump up a full step because his words have to be tangent to the people he is talking to and about, meaning his daughter and Jesus. The 2 words "eschatōs exei" (at-the-end she-has) is a colloquial expression. The word "exei" (she-has) needs the unsaid but known word (arrived) to make sense of the word "eschatōs" (at-the-end), a euphamism for being "at the point of death." All these Unclean Spirits throughout the gospel represent either a serious symptom or an affliction pointing to death. Jesus and the little girl are now in position for the next verse (drawing instruction). 5:23a < Verses > 5:23c |
