Mt 14:31a ... Yet ~ immediately the Jesus, having-stretched-out the hand took-hold of-him, ...

Verse 31 has 5 phrases containing 12 narrator and 4 dialog words. The 1st and 2nd phrases contain these 9 narrator words ... eutheōs de ho Iēsous, ekteinas tēn xeira epelabeto autou, (Immediately yet the Jesus, having-stretched-out the hand took-hold of-him, ...).

The 9 narrator words are top down. The word "euthus" (immediately), is the cue to use the previous diagram as a template. All the words are 'tangent to' or stretched out to the signs they name. This is the last time Simon will see 'the waters' on which he was walking around. All he wants now is to be saved! The diagram shows the hands of Jesus are stretched out and tangent to the full length of all 9 words, from the first two words to the last two words. The last 4 words "tēn xeira epelabeto autou" (the hand took hold of him) are tangent to the last 4 stretched out hands of Jesus tangent to the wave enclosing Simon in which he is 'sinking like a Stone.' The two diagrams for this verse are based on the word play of a question regarding "one of little faith."
