The 2nd phrase has these 3 dialog words, ... ho anaginōskōn noeitō ("the one reading let him know, ..."). The 3 dialog words are bottom up. "The one reading" does not refer to an inanimate object or a Roman soldier set up in a destroyed Temple. This part of the verse alludes to Daniel 12:11 during the Maccabean revolt of the 2nd Century BC when king Antiochus IV Epiphanes erected the "abomination of desolation" (probably a statue of Zeus) in the Temple. The narrator used this verse as a prophesy to the Roman "Abomination of Desolation." The 1,290 days is a perfect fit for the length of the Roman Jewish War from Aug 66 AD to Sept 70 AD. 13:14a < Verses > 13:14c |
