Verse 38 has three sentences, five phrases, and 23 words. The first sentence has two phrases containing these 5 narrator and 4 dialog words ... Ho de Iēsous eipen autois, "Ouk oidate ti aiteisthe" (The yet Jesus said to them, "Not do you know what you ask."). The 9 words are top down. The first phrase of 5 narrator words are tangent to Jesus and his glories. The 4 dialog words "Ouk oidate ti aiteisthe" ("you don't know what you ask") are tangent to the ears of John and James.
