Mk 9:38a ... Said to him the John, ... "Teacher, we saw someone in the name of you casting out demons, ..."

Verse 38 has 5 phrases containing 20 words. The scene is still the house in Capernaum. The first phrase has these 4 narrator words ... Efē autō ho Iōannēs (Said to him the John, ...). The second and third phrases have these 9 dialog words, ... "Didaskale, eidomen tina, ev tō onomati sou ekballonta diamonia" ("Teacher, we saw someone in the name of you casting out demons, ...").

The 4 narrator words are bottom up, exactly tangent to John. The 9 dialog words are bottom up the center three files and top down the two outside files.
