Mk 8:28a ... And they spoke to him saying that, ... "John the Baptist, ..."

Verse 28 has four phrases and 18 words. The first two phrases contain these 6 narrator and 3 dialog words ... hoi de eipan autō legontes hoti, Iōannēn ton Baptistēn (they yet spoke to him saying that, ... "John the Baptist," ...).

The 6 narrator, then the 3 dialog words are bottom up. The disciples tell Jesus that the two men of Cesarea of Phillipi in the previous verse were saying Jesus might be John the Baptist.
