Mk 8:27b ... And in 'the way' he questioned his disciples saying to them, ... "Whom do the people say I am?"

The second and third phrases contain these 10 narrator and 6 dialog words ... kai en tē hodō epērōta tous mathētas autou legōn autois, "Tina me legousin hoi anthrōpoi einai" (And in "the way" he questioned the disciples of him saying to them, "Whom of me say the men to be")?

The first phrase of 10 narrator words starts far left and right, then down to "the way," then bottom up the way to Jesus. The second phrase of 6 dialog words is top down from Jesus to the people ... "Tina me legousin hoi anthrōpoi einai" ("Whom of me are saying the men to be?"). The grammar of the text mixes present time with a quick flashback, during or just before or after Jesus asks his question. The diagram shows two men from the villages of Cesarea Phillipi starting to say who they think Jesus is. The narrator in the next two verses will tell us their candidates.
