The 5th phrase has these 5 narrator words, ... mē eis tēn zōnēn xalkon [not into the leather-sack copper (coins)]. The 5 narrator words are top down tangent to Jesus, the way, and the triangle holding bread in a sack and copper (coin) in a sack. The word "zōnēn" is a "leather coin sack, or purse." The sign for any single coin (by convention has a circumference = 443 units), such as xalkon (a copper coin) fits inside this same "leather sack." The previous word "pēran" (a leather sack for food) and "zōnēn" (a "leather sack for coins) are synonyms because this leather sack could either hold copper coins or food because these signs were inter-changable, money could buy food, and bread could always be sold for copper coins. The diagram shows the leather-sack holding copper coin or bread are not in or on the sign of "the way." The number, order, and wording of this verse was crafted to place these signs so that the imagery of the text matches the diagram. 6:8c < Verses > 6:9a |
