Mk 3:33 ... And having answered them he says, ... "Who is the mother of me and the brothers of me?"

Verse 33 has three phrases containing these 4 narrator and 9 dialog words, ... Kai apokritheis autois legei, "Tis estin hē mētēr mou, kai hoi adelfoi mou" (And having answered them he says, "Who is the mother of me, and the brothers of me")?

The 13 words are top down. The 4 words of the first phrase are tangent to the face of Jesus. The 5 words of the second phrase "Tis estin hē mētēr mou" (Who is the mother of me) are tangent to Jesus and two generic women in the crowd. The last 4 words "kai hoi adelfoi mou" (and the brothers of me) are tangent to any two men in the crowd. The crowd didn't ask him a question. Mark wanted his readers to know that Jesus thought his spiritual family was his eternal family, his real family, not the temporary family he had while he was on the earth. The 2 words "mētēr mou" (mother of me) could have been placed tangent to his earthly mother, but that would have suppressed the message.
