Verse 1 has the following 12 gospel text words ... Meta tauta apēlthen ho Iēsous peran tēs thalassēs tēs Galilaias tēs Tiberiados (After 'these things' departed the Jesus beyond the Sea of Galilee of Tiberias). The 12 words tangent to Jesus looks like a flying buttress of text. The term "tauta" (these things) refers to the last 42 words Jesus said to the Jews who wanted to kill him for curing the man on a Sabbath at the Pool of Bethesda. Jesus said in Jn 5:45-47: ... mē dokeite hoti egō katēgorēso humōn pros ton patera, estin ho katēgorōn humōn, Mōusēs, eis hon humeis ēlpikate. ei gar episteuete Mōusei episteuete an emoi peri gar emou ekeinos egrapsen. ei de tois ekeinou grammasin ou pisteuete pōs tois emois rēmasin pisteusete (Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father, there is one accusing you, Moses, in whom you have hoped. For if you were believing Moses, you would have believed me; for about me that one wrote. But if the writings of that one you don't believe, how my words will you believe)? The diagram shows the 12 text words tangent to Jesus fit the last 42 words he said like a key in a lock. The words fill the land of Galilee as he departs beyond the Sea of Tiberias. start < Verses > Jn 6:02 |
