Youth - neaniskos

Definition: Neaniskos (neh-an-is'-kos) Noun, Masculine - A youth, a young man.

Diagram: The Sign of a "youth" is a young man just before he grows a beard. The linen wrapper cast around his naked body is the same sign as a "holy spirit." The character of the youth is probably a literary device, a personification of ressurection. According to Matthew, the youth is an angel of the Lord who gives the women at the tomb the same message as Jesus himself (Mt 28:2-10).

Mk 14:51a a "certain youth" was following him, having a linen cast around his nakedness.
