Mk 14:30c ... "before the twice a rooster sounds, thrice me you will deny."

The 5th phrase has these 8 dialog words, ... prin ē dis alektora fōnēsai, tris me aparnēsē ("before the twice a rooster sounds, thrice me you-will-deny").

The 8 dialog words are top down. This diagram is set in the immediate future. The future first and second cockcrows, (1480) christ circles, yet to sound, will appear inside the blue triangles. The commentary book Sacra Pagina Mark says Mark does not use the technical term for a cock's crow (kokkyzein) but instead uses "fōnēsai" which can mean an animal or a human sound, such as a Roman soldier blowing a trumpet signaling the changing of the guard at the end of the night's watch. The words "before a cock sounds twice" means after a trumpet sounds once. The third watch of the Roman night guard ended by the sound of a trumpet (a cock-crow) at 3 am. The end of the 4th watch was the second cockcrow at 6 am, dawn. The precise time of the prophesy is signified by the word "fōnēsai" (sounds) which lies just over the center line of the diagram dividing the two blue triangles inside the hexagon. All 3 denials would happen in the 3rd watch before the dawn at 6 am (the 4th watch). The diagram shows if Simon does hear a second cockcrow, he will have denied Jesus three times before 6 am, the sound of the second cockcrow.
