Verse 32 has 3 phrases containing 14 narrator words. The 1st phrase has these 6 words ... Kai ferousin autō kōfon kai mogilalon (And they-bring to-him a-deaf and difficult-talker, ...). The 6 narrator words are clockwise starting from the bottom left column. The text says the man was a kufon (deaf) and mogilalon (a difficult speaker). Mark doesn't admit he was deaf and dumb because of an unclean spirit. Matthew and Luke are more forthcoming. They say the disciples bring a kufon daimonizomenon (mute demon-possessed) man to Jesus. As soon as Jesus expels the demon, the man can speak again (Mt 9:32, Lk 11:14). The above diagram shows the man they bring to Jesus has an unclean spirit with "four bonds" over his mouth and ears. The words "Kai ferousin" (And they bring) are tangent to the men bringing the mute. The word "autō" (to him) is tangent to the Holy Spirit holding Jesus. The word "kōfon" (a deaf) is tangent to the ear of the deaf man. The 2 words "kai mogilalon" (and difficult talker) are tangent to the mute man's mouth which describes his speach. The imagery of the text words line up exactly with the images on the diagram. 7:31c < Verses > 7:32b |
