Decapolis - dekapolis

Definition: Dekapolis (dek-ap'-ol-is) Noun, feminine - Decapolis, from deka (ten) and polis, meaning a city, a city-state, and also a body of citizens. A region of ten cities east of the Jordan river. The ancient geographers differ in their list but all agree that Gadara, Hippo, Pella and Scythopolis were included in the Decapolis.
