Mk 15:42b ... which is Sabbath-eve.

The Greek word prosabbaton (Sabbath-eve) is a compound word from the preposition pros (before) and sabbaton (the Jewish Sabbath, Saturday). Therefore "prosabbaton" is another name for Friday. Another Gospel states that "it was the Day of Preparation, for that Sabbath was a High Day." This means that Saturday was a double sabbath because it was also the first day of the Feast of Unraised Bread.
