Jesus sows
"the word"
4:01 |
And again he began to teach beside the sea ... |
|
And a vast crowd was led together before him ... |
|
so that he stepped into a boat sitting in the sea. |
|
And all the crowd before the sea were on the land. |
4:02 |
And he
taught them in many parables ... |
|
and he
said to them in his teaching ... Listen! Perceive!
... |
4:03 |
The one
went out sowing to sow. |
4:04 |
And it
happened in the sowing ... |
|
some indeed fell by the
way ... |
|
and the
flyers came, and they
ate it down. |
4:05 |
And other
fell on the rock formation where it did not have
much earth ... |
|
and immediately
it sprang out and up, because it had no depth of earth. |
4:06 |
And when
the sun rose it was
scorched ... |
|
and because
it did not have a root it withered. |
4:07 |
And
other fell into the thorn-flowers ... |
|
and the
thorns came up and choked it ... |
|
and it
did not give fruit. |
4:08 |
And
others fell into the ideal earth ... |
|
and it gave fruit stepping up, and increasing, and bearing ... |
|
one "thirty" ... |
|
and one
"sixty" ... |
|
and one
... "a hundred." |
The Challenge
to Solve "the Mystery"
4:09 |
And he
was saying ...Who has ears to hear, let him hear! |
4:10 |
And when
he was alone by himself, the ones around him with the
twelve were asking him (about) the "parables." |
4:11 |
And
he was saying to them, You have been given the "mystery"
of the Kingdom of God, ... |
|
but
to those, the ones outside, everything occurs
in parables. |
4:12 |
In
order that seeing, they may see, ... |
|
and
they may not perceive, ... |
|
and
hearing, they may hear, ... |
|
and
they may not understand, ... |
|
lest
they should turn about, and it be forgiven
to them. |
4:13 |
And he
says to them, Don't you understand this parable? |
|
And then how "all the parables" will you come to know? |
The Solution
4:14 |
The one sowing the word sows. |
4:15 |
And
these are the ones beside the way where is sown the word, ... |
|
and when
they hear, |
|
immediately the Satan
comes, ... |
|
and he
takes up the word having
been sown into them. |
4:16 |
And these are the ones sown on the "rock-like formations," ... |
|
who whenever they hear the word, ... |
|
immediately with joy receive it. |
4:17 |
And they
do not have a root in themselves but are "short
lived," ... |
|
then
pressure comes or persecution because
of the word, ... |
|
immediately
they are snared. |
4:18 |
And others
are the ones sown into the thorns, ... |
|
These
are the ones having heard the word. |
4:19 |
And
the worries of the eternity, ... |
|
and
the deceit of the wealth, ... |
|
and the lusts about the remaining things, |
|
coming-in are-together-choking the word, ... |
|
and
it becomes unfruitful. |
4:20 |
And
these are the ones upon the ideal earth being sown, ... |
|
who
hear the word, ... |
|
and are beside receiving it and bearing "fruit," ... |
|
one
"thirty," ... |
|
and one "sixty," ... |
|
and one, "a
hundred." |
