The Gospel of Luke
The Gospel of Luke and his other work, Acts of the Apostles, contain many more parables and stories than the other four gospels. Matthew, Mark, and Luke are called the Synoptic gospels because they seem so alike. Mark was the template or source text for Matthew and Luke. These two later gospels ommitted some things Mark wrote or added, embellished, or further explained things Mark left unsaid. Luke wrote a prologue stating that other gospels before him compiled a narrative of the events in the life and death of Jesus. Some of these gospels were from eyewitnesses and others from "ministers who had handed down the word (of Jesus) to us." Luke stated that his gospel accurately investigated everything anew and wrote it all down in an orderly sequence so that the reader, Theophilus, (a lover of God) would receive the "correct teaching."
I have just started my investigation of Luke. The Sayings of Discipleship is a very nice Gematria parable. I will add more as I find time to solve them.
